Family, friends, and members of Fiji's sporting community gathered at the Nabua Methodist Church on Sukanaivalu Road to honour former Olympian judoka Simione Kuruvoli Senior during his final church service.
Among those paying their respects were rugby sevens legend Waisale Serevi and former Commonwealth Games gold medalist Ratu Nacanieli Takayawa.
Kuruvoli Snr also leaves behind a proud sporting legacy through his grandson, FIJI Water Flying Fijians halfback Simione Kuruvoli.
Originally from the Mataqali Rukuruku, Yavusa Tiliva of Nabouwalu, Ono, Kadavu, Kuruvoli Snr survived by his wife Rosanna, six children, 24 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
