E-Transport service provider, Vodafone Fiji Limited is calling on people to contact them if they are facing any type of inconvenience with e-ticketing services like recharge agents running out of e-transport top up balance and lack of recharge agents in their areas.
Fijivillage has received calls from people living in the Suva to Nausori corridor that some recharge agents are running out of balance at times and this has resulted in inconvenience for people during the rainy weather condition as they try to look for other agents.
Some also say that the next recharge agents are not close by.
People have also asked Vodafone why all the outlets that are selling mobile phone recharge cards do not have e-transport recharge services.
Fijivillage has received information that some outlets that sell phone recharge are not keen on providing the e-transport recharge service.
We have also received confirmation that the e-transport top up at outlets only run out if the shop providing the service has not topped up their balance with Vodafone. They will only get top up available for people when they request Vodafone for more e-transport top up.
Vodafone’s Chief Marketing Officer, Rajnesh Prasad says they have 1,300 top‑up agents that are available across the country for the convenience of the public.
Prasad says Vodafone works with its distributors and the retailers and continues to engage and get more retailers on board to do e‑ticketing top‑up for the convenience of customers.
He says Vodafone has also opened a toll free line; 151 to assist the public with queries and/or information in regards to eTransport service.
Although Fijivillage has received these complaints, Prasad says it is notable that they are yet to receive any such complaints of the agents running out of e‑ticketing top‑up recharge balances.
However, he says that the amount of top‑up available from an agent is at their discretion and demand in the area.
