The Fiji International Golf Tournament is now part of the European Tour.
Acting Prime Minister and Attorney‑General Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum said being part of the European Tour provides Fiji unprecedented level of exposure to be able to reach markets where we do not have a presence.
He said close to 400 million homes around the world, including Asian, North American and Australian markets will witness the beauty of Fiji as the Fiji International is broadcast live for 20 hours this year.
The European Tour is one of the strongest professional golf tours in the world and 2016 will see their global presence boosted with their first visit to Fiji.
The 2016 Fiji International Golf tournament will be played at the Natadola Bay Championship Golf Course from 6th to the 9th of October.
