Two earlier charged with murder of PC Racagi set free after ODPP drops charges
The two men earlier charged with the murder of Police Constable Peniasi Racagi in Lami are free to go after the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions dropped the charges against the two.

Keni Salawai and Jope Seniloli appeared before High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar this morning.

Justice Goundar told the two that the DPP has decided to terminate the criminal proceedings against them and under the law they are not required to give any reasons for their decision.

He says under those circumstances, he has no choice but to terminate proceedings and formally discharge them.

Justice Goundar adds that this means in the future, the ODPP can still bring the same charges against them.
