Pacific Harbour is preparing to welcome a new premium dining and entertainment destination as THE OVALS officially joins the growing Damodar Arts Village development through a half-a-million-dollar investment.
The new waterfront venue is expected to combine fine dining, live entertainment and a relaxed hospitality experience aimed at both locals and visitors travelling through the Pacific Harbour area.
Co-owner Regina Noela Tokaiulunivanua says the restaurant, OVO, will operate with a dual-setting concept featuring an indoor fine dining restaurant and a more casual outdoor lounge space.
She says the restaurant will offer a variety of cuisines rather than focusing on one style of food, with dishes designed to appeal to customers from Fiji and overseas.
Tokaiulunivanua says the outdoor area is being designed as a comfortable and relaxed environment where guests can spend hours enjoying the atmosphere, with plans already in place to expand the deck area.
She says the indoor restaurant will feature live jazz music to create a calm and elegant dining setting, while the outdoor section will include livelier entertainment, a sports bar with international television channels, signature cocktails and a more affordable contemporary menu.
Tokaiulunivanua says the business is heavily focused on three main priorities: service, food quality and atmosphere.
She says they also hope to make greater use of local produce while maintaining high standards across the menu.
The couple says they are grateful to be part of the Yatule Village development and hope the restaurant helps build a strong sense of community in Pacific Harbour.
Meanwhile, Waeya Mataele Tokaiulunivanua says he and his wife have spent the last four years searching for the right location to establish a high-end restaurant in the greater Suva area.
He says they initially looked at locations around Suva but immediately felt Pacific Harbour was the perfect fit after visiting Yatule Village.
Tokaiulunivanua says the area has strong potential to cater for the Suva business community, expatriates, tourists and residents living around Pacific Harbour.
He says the greater Suva area needs more quality spaces where people can enjoy fine dining, hold business meetings and relax in a premium environment.
Tokaiulunivanua also thanked Pacific Harbour developer Hiroshi Tamura for allowing them to become part of the growing development.
The couple has invested $0.5 million in this project.
According to Damodar Arts Village, THE OVALS has been built around the concept of “a legacy of elegance”, blending sophisticated dining with relaxed waterfront entertainment.
The venue will also feature a state-of-the-art sports bar, live performance stage, artisan cocktails and an outdoor deck overlooking a lily pond.
Damodar Group CEO Div Damodar says the group is excited to welcome THE OVALS as part of its continued efforts to build a creative and cultural hub in Pacific Harbour.
Damodar says the project reflects the company’s commitment to supporting tourism growth, entrepreneurship and community connection in Fiji.
Mr Biutiviti says the venue is designed to deliver a premium experience that combines sophistication, entertainment and Fiji’s hospitality culture.
He says the long-term goal is to help establish Pacific Harbour as a leading destination for premium dining and entertainment experiences in Fiji.
The restaurant is expected to officially open in November.
