TC Vaianu moves further away from Fiji, heavy rain, flash flood and strong wind warnings remain
As Tropical Cyclone Vaianu moves further away from Fiji, a heavy rain warning remains in force for the entire Fiji group, a flash flood warning remains in force for Viti Levu and a flash flood alert remains in force for the rest of Fiji.

The Nadi Weather Office says a flood warning remains in force for all low lying and flood prone areas to and downstream of Tuva River in Nadroga, Nawaka River and Nadi River.

A strong wind warning also remains in force for the land areas of southwest Viti Levu, Vatulele, Beqa, the Lau Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands.

The centre of Severe Tropical Cyclone Vaianu Category 3 was located about 310 kilometres south-southwest of Kadavu and 430 kilometres south of Nadi earlier today.

TC Vaianu is currently moving south-southeast away from the group at about 23 kilometres per hour and is expected to lie about 600 kilometres south-southwest of Ono-I-Lau at midday tomorrow.
