From the grass tracks of Taveuni to gold on the track at the HFC Bank Stadium, Taito Navatulevu of Niusawa Methodist High School will be looking to go home with a medal at this year’s Coca-Cola Games after claiming gold in the Maritime Zone Intermediate Boys 100 metres, with a manual time of 10.91 seconds.

Navatulevu, who hails from Taulevu Village in Naitasiri and shares maternal roots in Welagi, Taveuni, blazed through the race with no real competition.

He holds one of the fastest times in his grade and will be one to watch at the Coke Games.

Navatulevu also won gold in the 200 metres.

In last year’s competition, Niusawa Methodist claimed one silver medal in the boys division and will be looking to improve this time around.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from this Thursday to Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
