The Crest Fiji Pearls’ hard-fought win against the Cook Islands yesterday has set the tone as the Pearls prepare to face Samoa today in their second game.
Grassroots support has been strong, with the girls receiving heartfelt messages of encouragement from local clubs such as the Cakaudrove Netball Team, as well as the New South Wales-based Fijian girls, who have all sent their best wishes to the team.
The girls showed tremendous resilience, determination and grit to overcome the Cook Islands in their opening match, and they will be hoping to carry that same momentum, confidence and fighting spirit into today’s game against Samoa.
Fiji will face Samoa at 3pm today.
