Drua created chances but individual errors proved costly – Jackson

While the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua created plenty of opportunities to score tries, Head Coach Glen Jackson says it came down to individual errors that let them down in their 42-22 loss against the Chiefs yesterday.

Jackson highlighted this during the post-game press conference in Christchurch, saying he was really happy with how the team stuck in the game, but it came down to individual errors, which are not good enough to beat the Chiefs.

When asked about fullback Ilaisa Droasese's grubber kick from their in-goal, which is already being labelled as the wildest try of 2026, Jackson says it is not what they are after; maybe he was obstructed, but it is not good enough.

The Chiefs currently lead the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific table with 36 points, followed by the Hurricanes, also on 36 with a game in hand, while the Blues are third with 33 points.

Defending champions the Crusaders are fourth with 26 points, while the Drua are ninth with 16 points.

The Fijian Drua will play the Highlanders at 4pm Saturday at 4R Stadium, Govind Park, Ba.

In other games, the Hurricanes will meet the Crusaders at 7.05pm Friday, the Waratahs will host the Force at 9.35pm.

On Saturday, Moana Pasifika will face the Blues at 7.05pm, while the Reds play the Brumbies at 9.35pm.
