Coca-Cola Games Grand Stand ticket price increases to $60 to support young athletes

Ticket prices for the grandstand at this year’s Coca-Cola Games will increase to $60 for all three days, with the additional funds set to support Fiji’s secondary school athletes preparing for international competition.

General Secretary of the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association, Biu Colati confirmed the increase today during the handover of a vehicle to the association by Coca-Cola Europacific Partners at its office in Laucala Beach.

Colati says the grandstand ticket price has increased by $5 from last year’s $55, with the additional amount dedicated entirely to supporting the Fiji Secondary Schools Under-16 and Under-18 teams travelling to the Oceania Athletics Championships in Darwin later this year.

Colati says the move is aimed at easing the financial burden often placed on young athletes who typically have to organise their own fundraising after being selected to represent the country.

Colati noted that media reports frequently highlight how students are forced to seek sponsorship or carry out fundraising activities once they are named in national teams.

He says the association hopes the additional ticket revenue will help ensure that athletes can focus on training and competition rather than fundraising.

According to Colati, the funds raised will assist with expenses such as airfare, uniforms and other logistical costs required for the team’s participation at the regional event.

Colati says the organising committee, which includes representatives from the sponsor and the Fiji Sports Council, met recently to discuss ideas on how to manage ticket pricing while maintaining accessibility.

He adds the final details regarding entry prices are expected to be confirmed by the end of this month.

The 2026 Coca Cola Games will be held from the 30th of April to the 2nd of May.

Meanwhile, Suva Zone 2 begins next Tuesday, March 17th, and Wednesday March 18th, while Suva Zone 1 will begin on Thursday March 19th, and end on Friday, March 20th.
