Extra Bula FC and Fiji national football team captain Roy Krishna is calling on football fans to turn up in numbers as the 2026 Extra Battle of the Giants kicks off today at 4R Stadium at Govind Park in Ba.
Krishna says he is excited about the matches ahead and hopes fans will come out and support all the teams competing in the tournament.
He says Bula FC jerseys will also be available during the BOG and is encouraging fans to grab one.
Meanwhile, Dayal’s Steel Ba FC President Praneel Dayal says confidence is high in the Ba camp as they look to make home advantage count and add another trophy to their cabinet.
Dayal says Ba has been preparing for the BOG as part of its regular training programme, and morale is high following the team’s two title wins.
He acknowledges there will always be pressure when Ba plays in front of its home fans but believes the players are mentally prepared to handle it.
He is calling on Ba supporters to fill Four R Stadium at Govind Park and get behind the team.
Dayal says other teams have also prepared well, but Ba will be looking to end its eight-year wait for the BOG title and prove itself against Fiji’s best.
Global Care Suva FC and Blue Gas Navua FC will kick off the tournament at 1pm before Extra Supermarket Labasa FC takes on Nasinu FC at 3pm.
Stratum/PPCL Rewa FC will face Khelvin Engineering Lautoka FC at 5pm, while the official opening ceremony will take place at 7pm.
Hosts Ba FC will then take on Tagimoucia Nadi FC in the feature match at 7.30pm.
