As part of the World Suicide Prevention and World Mental Health Day celebrations, the Youth Champs 4 Mental Health a 24-hour Silencing Stigma Campaign is underway in Suva and Lautoka city.
The main purpose of the program is to create public awareness of issues such as suicide and mental illness and to educate people on the need to eradicate stigma associated with suicide and mental illness.
A volunteer Meme Naleba said the program is featuring members of Youth Champs 4 Mental Health stationed at various locations around the City square with placards and messages of hope.
Naleba said they have so far received great support from the members of the public.
She added they want to make it an annual event.
