Youth Champs 4 Mental Health is holding a peer mentoring program today with the aim to create a safe environment in schools and help identify the signs of depression in students.
President Lionel Rogers says the program will enable students to identify the behavioural change in those students who are depressed.
The peer mentoring program starts today in the central division and will end on Thursday.
Members of Youth Champs 4 Mental Health visited schools last week.
According to police statistics, 68 suicides and 69 attempted suicides have been recorded for this year.
Police say there were six cases of suicide where the victims were under the age of 16 years while there were 14 suicide cases where the victims were aged between 17 to 25 years.
