The whole nation waits in anticipation and excitement and is proud that our Fiji Water Flying Fijians have stamped their place once again after 16 years in the quarterfinals as the last eight teams to compete for Rugby’s Holy Grail – the Web Ellis Trophy.

In congratulating the team for making it to the knock-out stages of the tournament, Fiji Rugby Board Chair Peter Mazey says this is a proud moment for the Board of Trustees and the staff at Rugby House, and they extend their well-wishes to the team as they prepare for their match against England.

He says their hard work and passion for the sport have got them this far and they should be very proud of themselves as a team.

Mazey says their talent and determination, combined with their teamwork and sportsmanship, have shone through and have been inspirational to us watching from home.

He adds we are so proud of them and hope they go out there and have fun while playing their next game.

The last time Fiji made it to the quarterfinals was in 2007 when the team played against defending champion, South Africa.

The Flying Fijians will meet England at 3am tomorrow in Marseille.
