Ousted SDL parliamentarian and one of the people who filed the treason complaint against Commodore Frank Bainimarama, senior officers of the RFMF and the interim government, Ted Young is currently giving his statement to the CID officers at the Raiwaqa Police Station.
He is giving a statement in relation to the complaint lodged against Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama and the RFMF for alleged treason.
Ted Young was earlier accompanied by SDL members Samisoni Tikoinasau, Mere Samisoni and Peceli Kinivuwai along with their lawyer Niko Nawaikula.
Young said his other party colleagues, who have now left the police station, were there to support him.
Meanwhile, Nawaikula maintained that the High Court case between Qarase and Bainimarama is a civil matter while the treason investigation into the 2006 takeover that they have asked for is criminal in nature.
He said the investigation should not be mixed up with the civil case.
However, Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni has made it clear today that he will not meet with his police officers in relation to the treason complaint.
Commodore Teleni said no further action will be taken at this stage as the case between Qarase and Bainimarama is in court.
