Yat Sen heads to the Coca-Cola Games with the objective of enjoying themselves
Yat Sen Secondary Team Manager, Durga Prasad

Heading into the Coca-Cola Games this week, there is only one objective that the Yat Sen Secondary School athletes have in mind and that is to enjoy themselves.

After last week’s impressive performance at the Coca-Cola Suva Zone 1 competition, the school managed to have 23 out of the 90 athletes that participated, qualify for the national finals.

Team Manager Durga Prasad says their students are not born athletes and are just beginners but they have been urged to diversify themselves and enjoy what they do on the field regardless of the results.

Prasad says preparations are coming in slowly for their athletes as the coaches try to holistically develop the students for the future.

He says preparations are just as normal as any other school as they look to build their discipline and fitness, but most importantly to build their character and get them to enjoy their participation.

Prasad says the onus is on the athletes now to prove their worth on the big stage.

The Coca-Cola Games will be held from this Thursday to Saturday at the HFC Bank Stadium.
