A 45-year-old woman who allegedly raped and assaulted her 14-year-old daughter has been remanded in custody by the Nasinu Magistrates Court.
Police say the matter was reported at Nakasi Police Station by the 14-year-old girl’s teacher.
The girl had told the teacher that her mother was allegedly raping her between 1st January and 5th July this year.
A Domestic Violence Restraining Order has been issued by Magistrate Charles Ratakele.
The case has been referred to the Suva High Court and the matter will be heard again on the 29th of July.
