A woman was arrested at the Mead Road housing complex yesterday after police discovered alleged illicit substances during a raid.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations says the joint raid, conducted by officers from the Southern Division’s Serious Organised Crime and Intelligence Department, K9 and Crime Intel, led to the discovery of several large ziplock bags of dried leaves and more than 100 branches believed to be marijuana.
They say officers also seized suspected stolen items and smoking apparatus.
In another operation, a 36-year-old man from Eastern Division was arrested after police found dried leaves from his property believed to be marijuana.
Police say a search of his farm also uncovered more suspected marijuana plants.
They add that a separate raid at Nanuku Settlement in Vatuwaqa led to the discovery of a ziplock plastic bag containing white crystals suspected to be methamphetamine and a bag of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.
Police also arrested a 28-year-old man in Rodwell Road, Suva for alleged unlawful possession of illicit drugs.
ACP Driu says the Fiji Police Force remains committed to reducing the supply of illicit drugs by disrupting networks through targeted raids while also raising awareness of their harmful effects through community policing.
