The Digicel Fiji 7s team and coaching staff are expected to meet with some of the board members of the Fiji Rugby Union tomorrow to explain what went wrong in the Hong Kong 7s last week.
With a day to go for the Adelaide 7s tournament, there are revelations today that the 7s coaching and management team is trying to establish whether a person influenced some key players in the Fiji 7s team in HK.
Speaking from Adelaide this morning, 7s coach Josateki Savou said he cannot give any further details on the information they have received and the identity of the person, as investigations are continuing.
He said all this information will be revealed later as they will brief the FRU board members first.
Savou said they have established that some key players were influenced by the person who was outside the Fiji 7s camp.
Savou said they had a game plan and with the caliber of the players he had, there was no way that the Fiji team could have lost by 34-0 against NZ last weekend.
The 7s coach has also revealed that some of the Fiji 7s team players have come forward with the information on what actually happened in Hong Kong.
They are now awaiting the FRU board members to arrive in Adelaide to brief them on the serious issue.
