Police Commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho says during these trying times people need to work together and care for each other in the spirit of Veilomani.
While receiving hand sanitizers donated by Paradise Beverages, Qiliho also shared a story of how he has related the Veilomani spirit to his wife as she is one of the Fiji Airways staff to lose her job.
Qiliho says he stressed to the police officers that one way in which they can sustain their high tempo in operations is abiding by the word Veilomani.
500 litres of hand sanitizers was donated by Paradise Beverages to the Fiji Police Force today.
He says this donation has shown the spirit of Veilomani which simply means to work together in these hard times.
Qiliho says that this assistance will also increase the effectiveness of their operations and that officers would not have to take tanks of water to checkpoints for sanitation purposes.
Meanwhile, General Manager for Paradise Beverages, Michael Spencer says the production of hand sanitizer is very expensive and today's donation was made possible by the assistance received from stakeholders like the US Embassy, Fiji Airways, Fiji Sugar Corporation and others.
