Video shooting will now be undertaken in court sessions.
This is a pilot scheme already under way in the Chief Magistrate's court in Suva and a High court in Lautoka.
Chief Justice Anthony Gates said that video recording of proceedings will extend to every court in Fiji and hopes that it will be completed by the end of this year.
Chief Justice Gates said such improvements will also require an increase in training of court clerks who will transcribe the sound records for the purpose of the appeal.
He added that the recording of proceedings in this way is a significant reform, it brings accountability to the Bench and Bar alike.
