The Legal Practitioners Unit Counsel, Tui Kilakila informed the Suva High Court that Chief Registrar has given approval for a temporary practising certificate license to Aseri Vakaloloma.

Vakaloloma of Vakaloloma Associates is the counsel for four former employees of the Public Works Department who are charged with abuse of office.

The temporary practicing certificate is issued for only three weeks and is valid to 24th of this month.

Justice Thushara Rajasinghe told him that he and his other associates cannot appear in any other court and he cannot leave his court without his permission.

The Legal Practitioners Unit will be investigating on Vakaloloma because he appeared in other courts without his practising license certificate.

Justice Rajasinghe also asked the prosecution and other defense counsels if they want to claim costs as compensation for the two days where trial could not proceed because they were dealing with this issue.

The FICAC and the defense counsel told the court that they do not want to claim any compensation.

The matter will be called again this morning and the trial will continue today.
