University of Fiji Senior Lecturer, Dr. Ramendra Prasad from the School of Science and Technology has been included in the list of top 2 percent scientists in the world based on citations and publications by the Stanford University.

Dr. Prasad’s name appeared in the single recent year impact criteria for 2022 in the subfields of Energy, Environmental Engineering and Earth and Environmental Sciences.

He says being included among the top 2 percent of the world's most influential scholars and researchers according to research papers and citations is a fantastic honour for him and the University.

He says this has placed UniFiji on the world map as a reputable university with highly regarded researchers.

The Senior Lecturer further says it is a huge achievement for the university as researchers with very limited resources are able to achieve global rankings.

He adds his academic work requires him to do teaching, research and community engagement while teaching students and motivating them to conduct relevant research to address issues, inspire curiosity and critical thinking which are essential components of academia.

Dr. Prasad also acknowledged his family, colleagues and friends for their continuous support and encouragement.
