Two faults found in WAF pumps that disrupted water flow

The Water Authority of Fiji says they have found two faults in their pumps that disrupted water flow to their treatment plants affecting thousands of residents in parts of Lami – Nausori corridor.

WAF says in the early hours of yesterday, teams began checking for faults that may have caused the disruption and have been working to fix these faults non-stop.

WAF is currently refilling the reservoirs at Wainibuku and Tovata, after which the water restoration process will begin.

The Authority says texts were sent to people living in impacted areas from 9am yesterday, as well as online notices on all their platforms.

WAF is urging all Fijians to keep at least three days of drinking water stored, especially during the cyclone and drought seasons because of the increase in the likelihood of disruptions.

WAF says they will be providing carting trucks when requested and in case of an emergency, people can call 1507.
