The Co-Chair of the National Council for Building a Better Fiji and Head of the Catholic Church in Fiji, Archbishop Petero Mataca said if we are to come forward and become new, we have to change.
Speaking after the inaugural meeting of the council last night, Archbishop Mataca said that it is time for people to put their differences aside and ensure that Fiji moves forward.
Archbishop Mataca said it is a great pity that some very important sectors of the society have chosen to reject the invitation to take part in the national initiative to develop a People's Charter. He said he regrets the decision of some political parties, some churches, unions and NGO's who have distanced themselves from the initiative.
He urges them to rethink their position as the National Council needs everyone to be involved to get all points of view.
