Thousands take part in Yellow Ribbon Walk to support inmates that have been released

Thousands of people gathered at Albert Park in Suva this morning to take part in the Yellow Ribbon Walk which raises awareness about acceptance for inmates that have been released back into society.

The walk is organised by the Fiji Corrections Service

Former and current Corrections officers and former inmates, new recruits from the Fiji Police Force, soldiers of the Fiji Navy and RFMF and officers from the National Fire Authority and students were part of the awareness initiative.



Wilsa Vula from Wailoku in Tamavua took part in the walk for her sister who is a former inmate and her brother-in law who is serving time.

Minister for Health Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete, Minister for Women, Mereseini Vuniwaqa, Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate and Minister for Defence Inia Seruiratu led the walk.
