More than 15,000 students from 26 different countries have benefitted from the Free Bird Institute’s two campuses at Namaka in Nadi and Lautoka so far.

This was highlighted by the Governor of Reserve Bank of Fiji, Barry Whiteside during the official listing of Free Bird Institute Limited on the South Pacific Stock Exchange today.

It is an institute where English language is taught to those foreigners who do not know how to speak this language.

This is the first company representing the education sector which is listed on the South Pacific Stock Exchange.

Whiteside reveals that a little under 1,500 students were enrolled at the institute last year.

He says so far students had great experiences and memories of their time in Fiji.

He adds that many of these students will use their new skills acquired in Fiji to assist them in achieving their education and employment dreams across the globe.

Whiteside also says that attracting young people from overseas to come to a strange land and study is not easy, especially when they do not speak the language.

The average length of stay at the institute is 10 weeks, with the programs varying from 2-50 weeks.

The Institute was opened in 2004.
