This year has recorded the second lowest fatality rate in the last ten years.
This is according to Land Transport Authority General Manager Timoci Satakala who said they are working towards decreasing last year’s record of 47 up until December as the current road fatality rate stands at forty four.
He said they are trying to impact the lives and decision making of the road users.
He added that LTA has started a road campaign where officers will be out in certain areas for the next three months to ensure that drivers are following the road rules.
