Teeth numbers determine the wellness of Oral health - Tudravu

A healthy baby should have 20 teeth, an adult teeth should have 32 teeth and a senior citizen must have 20 teeth at the end of their life if you do not have the right number of teeth then you have an oral problem.

This was the statement made by Permanent Secretary of Health Doctor Jemesa Tudravu whilst officiating at the World Health Oral Day at the Civic Center in Suva.

Tudravu says that people should brush their teeth at least 3 times a day.

With the theme “A Happy mouth is a happy body” Tudravu says the emergence of the global pandemic of COVID-19 pandemic, has the healthcare system around the world severely challenged including ours.

Tudravu reiterated the roles of the dentist in Fiji and stated that as a student of dentistry dentists will conduct themselves with competence and integrity, with candor and passion, and with commitments to the best interest of patients.

Various stakeholders that attended the World Oral Day today were Fiji National University, The Ministry of Health, and Colgate Palmolive.
