Team Fiji claims 3rd spot

Team Fiji has claimed the third position on the Pacific Games medal tally.

Fiji now has 7 gold, 4 silver and 8 bronze medals.

Fiji won two more gold medals yesterday afternoon in the women’s team Kata and women’s Individual Kata.

Together with this, Fiji swimmers bagged four bronze medals last night.

Tieri Erasito came third in the women’s 400m freestyle and women’s 100m butterfly.

Two more bronze medals came Fiji’s way in the women’s 200m breaststroke and men’s 4x200m freestyle.

Looking at the results of other sports, the Fiji 7s team hammered Wallis and Futuna 52-0 yesterday.

Fiji will go up against Tahiti at 12.06pm and Tokelau at 5.26pm today.

Also yesterday afternoon, the Fiji women’s Volleyball team beat Guam 55-47.

Meanwhile, more gold medals are up for grabs at day 5 of competition starting with shooting at 11am where our shooters Jared Frost and Glenn Kable will up against shooters from Samoa and Tahiti in mixed final.

In the overall medal tally, New Caledonia sits first with 28 gold, 22 silver and 6 bronze while Tahiti is second with 14 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze.
