Interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama stresses that the December 5th takeover could not have been avoided.
While speaking on a talkback on Village News, Bainimarama said the RFMF spoke to Qarase a number of times since 2001 but he did not want to listen.
Bainimarama also revealed during the talkback that Qarase was also part of a group who called the Commander to remove President, Ratu Josefa Iloilo back in 2000.
The Interim PM revealed that the President was then pressured to appoint Adi Samanunu Cakobau as Prime Minister after the 2000 coup.
