Siromi Turaga has resigned as Acting Attorney General

Siromi Turaga has resigned as Acting Attorney General.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka confirmed this to the media earlier this afternoon.

Rabuka says Turaga is still a Member of Parliament and People's Alliance Party member.

He says his resignation is effective immediately.

The Prime Minister says Turaga is still involved in the People's Alliance Party discussions and the Special Committee.

He says he told Turaga that he believes there is a video that is being circulated.

Rabuka says Turaga came up with an apology and offered to resign from cabinet.

The Prime Minister says as of now, they have not seen or appointed anyone to replace Turaga.

Rabuka says they have a team in cabinet that is already legally qualified but not constitutionally qualified.
