The Ministry of Health has established that a Supermarket owner failed to comply with Food Safety Regulations after the Ministry investigated claims made by the Supermarket Owner against two of its Health Inspectors.
The supermarket owner had raised concerns that two Health Inspectors allegedly confiscated $700 worth of meat late last month.
Assistant Minister for Health Veena Bhatnagar said they have solved the problem amicably.
Bhatnagar said the Health Officers who investigated the matter clearly explained to the supermarket owner where he had gone wrong in terms of labelling and packaging of frozen products.
She added that the two Health Inspectors were counselled on how to handle such cases in the future in a more responsible and professional manner.
