Students urged to fight drug abuse through education
Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad speaking to students of Vunimono High School

Education is the most powerful weapon in the fight against drug abuse, says Deputy Prime Minister Professor Biman Prasad, as he encouraged students to make wise and healthy choices to build a brighter future.

Addressing the students at the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of new bures at Vunimono High School, Professor Prasad called for unity in the fight against drug abuse.

He says we must stand united against the menace of drug abuse, which is destroying the lives of young people and undermining the fabric of the communities.

The Deputy Prime Minister also placed strong emphasis on the vital contribution of students to Fiji's future.

He says the students are not just learners today; they are the architects of Fiji's tomorrow.

Professor Prasad commended the school community for their dedication as the groundbreaking signifies a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing the learning environment for students.

Meanwhile, the National International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking will be held on June 30th across the country.
