Students of Labasa College have requested for sports facilities in the Northern Division.

During the 2017/2018 budget consultation in Labasa, students say there is a need to upgrade sports facilities in the Northern Division so that students do not have to go to Suva.

Attorney General and Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum told the students that there will be some indoor facilities in the Northern division soon.

Sayed‑Khaiyum says the main issue is the land and as soon as they attain this they will make indoor facilities.

Meanwhile students from Lekutu Secondary School raised the issue that the Lekutu community does not have television reception.

The students say that there is a need for TV reception so that people from Lekutu and Bua can watch rugby sevens and educational programmes.

Sayed‑Khaiyum says work on digital television has already started

between the Suva and Nausori corridor and it will commence in Vanua Levu soon.
