Southern Zone qualifiers confirmed for 2025 Fiji Secondary Schools Football Championship

DAV College U15, Vunimono High School U15, Vashist Muni College U17, and Suva Muslim College U19 have taken major steps toward national glory as the Southern Zone Secondary Schools Soccer Association play-offs wrapped up at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.

DAV College has officially booked their spot in the 2025 Fiji Secondary Schools Football Championship after finishing top of the U15 standings.

They played out a 1-1 draw with Vashist Muni College earlier this week, with Joela Vueta scoring for DAV before an own goal handed Vashist the equaliser.

With teams locked on points, goal difference proved decisive — and DAV emerged as Southern Zone U15 winners.

The final U15 qualification spot was determined in dramatic fashion after Vunimono High School and Vashist Muni ended their playoff match in a 0-0 stalemate.

With both teams level on points and goal difference, a toss was conducted, and Vunimono, under coach Ronald Kumar, won the toss to claim runner-up status and qualify for nationals.

In the U17 category, defending champions Vashist Muni secured their return to the nationals after a tense 0-0 draw with Nakasi High School.

The result was enough for Vashist to top the Southern Zone and maintain their unbeaten run.

In U19 action, Suva Muslim College defeated Rampur College 2-0 thanks to goals from Nirav John Tino and Joseph Dominiko. The composed win keeps Suva Muslim in the title race, with a crucial clash against Tailevu North College up next.
