The Soccer community is in shock after receiving news that a prominent referee is the latest road casualty after returning from the celebrations organized for Navua soccer's win at the Vodafone Fiji Fact.
Fiji FA President Doctor Samsud Dean Sahu Khan said it is a big loss for Fiji Fa and Fiji as the referee was a capable person.
Dr Sahu Khan added that the late referee was a person who had respect for everyone.
Fiji Football Referees Director Chandra Segran said he is a a shock and cannot believe that they have lost one of the best and experienced referee.
Navua Football President Anil Sharma said he has lost a good friend who was with them yesterday for the Vodafone Fiji Fact celebrations.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed to Fijivillage earlier during the day that the referee and two others were in a van when he lost control of the vehicle on the Queens Road and in the process hit a lamp post where live wire fell on the vehicle, electrocuting the soccer referee.
Two other passengers who were in the vehicle are being treated at the hospital.
