Seven juveniles and a police officer charged with separate rape cases in August

Seven juveniles and a police officer have been charged with separate serious sexual offences.

While releasing the August statistics, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions says there were two separate incidents where a 14-year-old and a 15-year-old boy were charged with the rape of their 5 and 6 year old stepsisters.

A 17-year-old boy was charged with the rape of his 4-year-old cousin while in another incident a 17-year-old boy was charged with the rape, attempted rape and sexual assault of his 12-year-old cousin.

There were two separate incidents where a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old boy were charged with the rape of a 23-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl.

The accused persons and the victims were neighbours.

There was one incident where a 14-year-old Head boy was charged with the rape of two 8-year-old boys.

The accused and the victims were from the same school.

The DPP’s Office says a 46-year-old police officer was charged with the indecent assault of a 17-year-old girl.

There were 23 people charged with a total of 58 counts of separate incidents in August. There were 42 cases of rape,

3 cases of attempted rape, 1 case of abduction with intent to have carnal knowledge, 1 case of indecent assault, 2 cases of defilement and 9 cases of sexual assault.
