29-year-old Pene Savea who is going for his second time under the Australia Seasonal Worker Program says he managed to save around $20,000 in his last deployment and also remitted funds to family back in Rotuma towards education support and other family commitments.

Savea also says to qualify for re-engagement, one must be dedicated, committed, honest, and punctual to work with a good attitude.

He believes this is what all employers look for in a worker, whether locally or internationally, in terms of good performance to remain relevant in any workforce.

The 29-year-old was engaged in picking and packing grapes, pruning, leafing and rolling.

Acting Minister for Employment, Filimoni Vosarogo reminded the workers that with a positive attitude and a clear mindset, one will be successful upon return.

Vosarogo further added that through hard work in Australia, more doors will open for future opportunities for relatives and friends which will create a multiplier effect through employer referrals.
