New SODELPA parliamentarian Mere Samisoni who took up the seat left vacant by the late Ratu Sela Nanovo, is now saying that the current method of getting new Members of Parliament after a vacancy is available, is not democratic.
Samisoni made the comments in her maiden speech.
When questioned by Fijivillage on why she has taken up the parliamentary seat if she strongly believes that the way she came into parliament is not democratic, Samisoni says she is coming in to highlight it in parliament.
Samisoni then claimed that Legend FM and FM96 News is censored.
When we told her that we are not censored, Samisoni said that she is happy and it is good for us that we are not censored, and we can broadcast her comments as it is her right under the 2013 constitution.
