The new Vatuwaqa Bridge

Walking around a bridge to get to the other side of the road in time to catch the bus will now be a thing of the past after the opening of the new Vatuwaqa Bridge.

Resident Filimoni Rokouro says that prior to the opening of the new bridge residents would at times have to walk around the temporary bailey bridge in order to catch the bus to get to work and school.

He adds that the opening of the new bridge is very timely especially with school beginning next Monday.

Rokouro adds that being able to have his children board the bus not too far from the front of his home has put his mind at ease as he knows this will not just be safe for his children but for the community as a whole.
