Reserve Bank Governor resigns
The Governor of Reserve Bank Sada Reddy has resigned.

Chairman of the Reserve Bank board Governance Sub-Committee Deo Saran today announced that he has received notice of resignation of Reddy.

The resignation is with immediate effect.

Reddy a career banker has served with RBF for 35 years, the last 20 months as Governor and prior to that he was Deputy Governor for 15 years.

The board sincerely thanks Reddy for his long and distinguished service throughout his time with the Bank and wishes him and his family well for the future.

The Board also announced that the Deputy Governor Barry Whiteside will act as Governor until further notice.
