Prisons officers remanded in custody
The six Prisons officers who allegedly beat up a nightclub manager in Suva over the weekend have been remanded in custody.

The six charged with one count each of abduction and a count each of intent to cause grievous bodily harm appeared before Suva Magistrate, Makareta Mua this afternoon.

Magistrate Mua has deferred their plea as the offence is indictable and the six are to appear in court tomorrow with proper sureties for bail.

The six ranging between the ages of 29 years to 38 years are Trevor Rawailui, Napolioni Latianara, Seremaia Kaitani, Esala Nadruku, Vikatore Leawere and Sakeasi Ravutugaga allegedly abducted the manager of a Suva nightclub on Sunday and took him to the Naboro Prison Complex where they allegedly assaulted him.

The matter will be called again tomorrow morning.
