The Suva Magistrates Court has denied bail to the four police officers allegedly involved in an assault case from 2024.
The four are Sevanaia Sedra, Kurt Yee, Jonathan Whippy and Ponipate Domolailai.
It is alleged they questioned the victim, Jone Ledua, after he caused a disturbance at a barbecue stall on the morning of 25th August 2024.
It is further alleged that Ledua was assaulted following the questioning.
The four appeared before Magistrate Sufi Hamza this afternoon.
They are represented by Nikheel Nambiar, while the State is represented by Naazish Ali.
They are charged with intent to cause grievous harm. Sedra is also charged with the theft of Ledua's Samsung A35 phone, Adidas jacket and $200 in cash.
Their case has been transferred to the Suva High Court and will be called on 28th August.
