The Fiji Water Flying Fijians will try and overcome a huge challenge ahead of them in terms of preparation as they will only have 6 days to train together before taking on Samoa in the first round of the 2024 Pacific Nations Cup that will kick off next week.

Coach Mick Byrne says despite that, he knows they have got a good coaching group.

He says they will try and get really clear with their plans this weekend and then get to work next Monday, and work on getting their game plan right.

He adds the positive thing is that a number of the players selected were part of the recent tour when they played against the Barbarians, Georgia and the All Blacks and they have had experience in what they are trying to do.

The 30-member Flying Fijians squad will have their first training camp this Saturday.

Fiji will take on Samoa at 6pm next Friday at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
