The Fiji Police Force has terminated a number of police officers over the last six months on allegations of adultery.
Police Spokesperson Ema Mua confirmed to Fijivillage news that the zero tolerance policy on adultery was implemented last year and a stern message has been sent to all officers that action will be taken against officers who bring disrepute to the force and the police uniform.
Mua said the message from Police Commissioner Commodore Esala Teleni is that officers must clean up their own act before they can fight crime effectively.
About a month ago, a station officer in charge in the Central Division was given her marching orders after allegations of committing adultery.
