Wales Rugby Head coach Wayne Pivac has ruled Gareth Anscombe out of next year's New Zealand tour due to his long-standing knee injury.
New Zealand-born fly-half Anscombe missed the Rugby World Cup in Japan after suffering a knee injury in a warm-up match against England in August.
The former Auckland Blues fly-half has now been forced to undergo a second operation with Pivac not considering him to face the All Blacks.
Pivac who guided the Fiji 7s team to its last 7’s Rugby World Cup success in 2005 says Anscombe has been working his way back from the injury and the main thing is that he gets that knee right and gets back to 100 per cent.
