Prime Minister, Voreqe Bainimarama has revealed that the Social Democratic Liberal Party and the United Front for a Democratic Fiji were allegedly distributing flyers relating to misleading information about his salary.

Bainimarama said some people in the Northern Division complained to him about the distribution of the flyers in Vanua Levu.

Although SODELPA Leader, Ro Teimumu Kepa said that her party is not behind the distribution of the flyers which claims that the Prime Minister’s salary is 1.7 million dollars, Bainimarama maintains that the people who spoke to him said that the flyers were from SODELPA and the United Front.

Bainimarama stresses that he does not earn 1.7 million dollars.

He said the party has made the claims without any fact, or proof or evidence.

He said people will find out what his salary is after the registration of the proposed FijiFirst.

When the proposed FijiFirst is registered, the party officials will have to disclose personal incomes, assets, business connections, director-ships, gifts, and liabilities with 30 days.

Meanwhile we also contacted United Front spokesperson Mick Beddoes and questioned him on whether the United Front was behind the distribution of the flyer with misleading information.

Beddoes said he cannot do much if the previously released statements are taken around by some people.

However he said his previous claims that the Prime Minister was earning more than 1 million dollars was made in the past.
