The old Nadi fire station will soon be transformed into an accommodation center for the market vendors who travel long distance to sell their produce in the market.
This came after an interactive policy dialogue between Nadi Town Council and 23 local women leaders in Nadi yesterday.
The dialogue which was facilitated by FEMLINK Pacific as part of it's Women, Peace and Human Security programme covered a number of priority issues and construction of affordable accommodation for market vendors was one of the issues that was highlighted.
Nadi Town Special Administrator Aisea Tuidraki said they have identified 40 market vendors who spend their nights on the footpath.
