More than 100 students and teachers of Navakawau Catholic School in Taveuni now have a safe and clean learning environment after the opening of a new three classroom block.
The Ambassador of Japan Takuji Hanatani has handed over the new classroom block which was also equipped with furniture to the school management.
Head Teacher Semi Lalama says after the inspection was done by the Taveuni Health Office, they found the 25 year old building to be in bad shape and beyond repair.
The $172,000 project was funded by the government of Japan.
